Runfessing Over Coffee... August Edition
Woohoo for Friday! I am so ready to get this long weekend started! Before we get into the weekend festivities... I've got to cleanse my soles... join me over coffee for some runfessions. I'm enjoying some Costa Rican dark roast that I picked up on vacation.
I RUNFESS...
I had so much fun in Costa Rica... it was so beautiful there. Even though the hubs and I thought it would be a one and done trip, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to go back. I brought my running shoes, and did run once. The resort was so spread out and hilly, I easily got over 15,000 steps every day.
I'm quite excited about our weekend plans! We are heading to Lake Travis in Austin for some camping! We will be at Windy Point so that the hubs can dive (he is aiming to log 100 dives in 1 year, I think he has 4 left). I'm bringing my paddleboard so I see lots of SUP in my future. Camping is primitive at Windy Point, and I'm actually looking forward to letting go of all the creature comforts and spending some time in nature.
My birthday is Tuesday... and I'm hitting the big 5-0! Strangely enough, I'm not freaking out over the big number, like I have in the past. I've been told 50 is the new 30. #50andfabulous
I am really enjoying body pump and try to make it to class at least twice a week (if not 3 times). I have to say, one shouldn't go to body pump after being absent for a week the day before a race. My glutes and thighs sure did burn during Habanero.
Any plans over the holiday weekend? Any runfessions?
I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup; with Marcia's Healthy Slice for Runfessions; and with Got 2 Run 4 Me & Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date!

Your holiday plans sound so fun! Enjoy! Welcome to the big 50 club. It sucks but it's fabulous too. Age is just a number after all. I haven't been to Costa Rica in about 20 years. I'd love to go back! Thanks for linking!
ReplyDeleteHappy early Birthday!! Nothing major on my calendar for Labor Day weekend, other than a half marathon on Sunday. I'm excited for an extra day of "nothing" this weekend ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Have a great race!
ReplyDeleteI finally tried SUP last weekend - it was fun and not as scary as I thought. I'm sure Costa Rica is worth another visit!

ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday! While I can't say I love being in my 50s, it's been a wonderful decade so far.

ReplyDeleteCosta Rica is such a gorgeous place--I got to go there since I was on a cruise that stopped there for about a day, but I'd love to go back and stay for longer!
