Brazos Bend 50k Training - Week 4

Chicago Marathon training - week 13

This week marks the fourth week of my training cycle for Brazos Bend 50k.  I got in some good runs this week and was thankful for some delightful weather. This is Brazos Bend 50k Training - Week 4.

This week I got 3 runs in, all after work and all outside!  We were blessed with some really great weather (mid 70s for high and not too humid). Two of my runs were on a new trail I found... it's along a creek and 12.5 miles of paved trail.  I didn't get into the gym this week, as I felt that Rachel's Total Body Challenge is a good strength workout in itself (I'm in catch up mode currently).

I dialed in my nutrition this week, managing to prep my lunches for the week.  For dinner I had the ingredients prepped for a black rice and broccoli bowl.  It's so much easier to eat well when you have a plan.

  2. I agree with you that Rachel's TBC is enough! I'm actually going to modify it a bit- it's kind of intense and I've been incredibly sore!

I cannot wait until it warms up enough to run in shorts here. That trail sounds nice.

    Have a great week!

  3. Great week of training! Love that you were able to explore a new trail. I wish we had long running paths where I lived.

Totally agree with you that the Total Body Challenge is hard on some days, especially with all those burpees!

  5. I wish I had a trail like that close by! I love running along the water (which is what I did on Monday, before the next snowstorm) -- but it's a paved path, not a trail.

Sounds like a most excellent week!

  6. This total body challenge is kicking my ass! I have to break them up into sets of 10 throughout the day in order to get them done and I'm currently in catch up mode as well! I swear I'm hating on the supermans more than I ever did burpees... whew!

    Nice week of running lady!

  7. 12.5 miles of paved trail along a creek sounds perfect! Great job in keeping up with the Total Body Challenge. Meal prep has never been a strong suit, but it sure would make those weekdays easier! Thanks for linking.

  8. It's a really nice trail... thinking it will be great for those really long runs so I don't have to do too much math figuring out what loop has what mileage.

  9. This one is a paved trail too. I think there are some dirt trails along it, but I didn't explore off the asphalt too much.
