This week my taper continued. I actually enjoy the cutback of mileage and the easy runs leading up to the big day. I did experience some weird aches and pains on my workout Wednesday night... but I think they are phantom pains.
In addition to my runs I made it to yin yoga twice this week... I really think that training myself to be "comfortable being uncomfortable" will help on race day.
My nutrition continued to be pretty good this week... I made a large batch of Cincinnati Chili (recipe coming tomorrow) and ate that for lunch during the week, and treats were definitely less than normal. Since all my workouts are in the evening, my dinners are pretty light... a protein shake, or salad.
Chicago Marathon Training - Week 15:
Monday - 4 easy miles + 4x:30 sec strideouts.
Tuesday - Yin yoga.
Wednesday - 1 mile w/up & c/down, 8x 2:00 with 2:00 recovery miles.
Thursday - Yin yoga.
Friday - 4 miles easy... ended up hitting the treadmill since my commute that day was over 2 hours - I seriously could have run it faster.
Saturday - 8.5 miles easy.
Sunday - Rest.
Total Miles = 21
