I'm recapping the past week of training for the Chicago Marathon. This was Chicago Marathon Training - Week 10 in the training cycle. I've got 6 weeks of training left!
This week was a cut back week, and I managed to get in 3 of my runs (I missed my long run of 10 miles due to the arrival of Harvey). I got in one strength training session.
I was pleased with my eating this week as well, noshing on Roasted Vegetable Salad with Chimichurri for lunch most of the week.
On a serious note... I am surviving through the tropical deluge that Harvey continues to bring us. My family is safe, dry, and has power at this time, we have a ways to go before we are out of harms way. The scenes from Houston are grim and quite frightening. My area has received over 24 inches so far, with parts of Houston getting over 30... and rain is still falling.
Chicago Marathon Training - Week 10:
Monday - Rest.
Tuesday - 4 miles easy + 6 strideouts
Wednesday - 7 miles easy
Thursday - 30 minutes recumbent bike + strength training - quads, hamstrings, lats, shoulders, chest, quads
Friday - 5 miles easy
Saturday - Forced rest day
Sunday - Forced rest day
Total Miles = 17
I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’, and special guest hostess eresa @ Finding Fabulous at Fifty. for the Weekly Wrap.

You guys really are getting slammed over there! I have several friends that live in the Houston area that I'm keeping up with on Facebook. It is very frightening, no doubt. Stay safe and know that we are all praying for everyone's safety!
ReplyDeleteI hope you stay safe and dry! My cousin and her boyfriend finally left their apartment this morning after seeing people rescued by boat on the river behind building!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThankfully we stayed safe and dry... the devastation was just mind boggling and heart wrenching.
