Today I'm joining the Ultimate Coffee Date for some catching up! On the first Saturday of the month... we gather with our warm beverage of choice for some catch up!
Over tea, I'd tell you all about my vacation to NE KS. I had so much fun visiting with family and seeing old friends (one I hadn't seen in over 20 years). I ran 2 races while I was there (recaps coming soon), went to a Royals game (the one the won in the Yankees series), and spent a little time at my old college hang out (Free State Brewery).
Over tea or coffee, I'd share with you that the hubs and I picked our vacation spot for our lucky #13 wedding anniversary trip... we're going back to Jamaica, even to the same resort we got married at. I'm pretty excited... only 31 days until we leave!
Over tea or coffee, I'd share with you that the hubs wants to renew our vows while we are in Jamaica... so, I'm on the hunt for a dress. So far, I haven't found anything... why can't what I'm imagining in my head be sold at the stores? This is probably the lesser of evils, as I'm not looking forward to trying on swimsuits either!
Over tea, I'd tell you all about my fun morning the other day. I was getting ready for work (and running late, as per usual), and my flat iron just went kaput! Seriously... I only had about 1/3 of my hair straightened. So, I did what any sane person would do, I marched into Wal-mart on the way to work, purchased a new flat iron and finished my hair in the bathroom at work.
Over tea, I'd share my excitement about being able to represent Spandits! for another year! I really love all their stuff and wear it all the time ... even to work - they have dresses, and the capris can be dressed up as a tunic when I decide to boycott our dress code that isn't jean friendly on Friday.
Well, that catches me up...what would you tell me, if we were having tea or coffee?
I'm linking up with I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for Friday Five 2.0; and Got 2 Run 4 Me & Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date!

Jamaica! How fun! Never been, always wanted to.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm happy I don't straighten my hair. :)
LoL on the hair appliance issue. My hair is baby fine so no flat iron needed. I used to use a curling iron back in the day .... Congrats on your upcoming anniversary and good luck with the dress and bathing suit shopping!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the ambassadorship--another year of cute running gear is always a win!
ReplyDeleteHow fun that your hubs wants to renew your vows. Mine is so not romantic like that. I'm sure you'll have fun!
Too funny on the hair! That is totally something I would have done too. Jamaica sounds fabulous and it's going to be so cool to renew your vows too. Have a fantastic time. thanks for joining us for the coffee date today
ReplyDeleteLoving your sneaky Spandits! Good luck finding that perfect dress for the vow renewal.
ReplyDeleteJamaica looks beautiful! I've never been there but have heard it's a wonderful vacation spot. It would be perfect for a vow renewal :)
ReplyDeleteWe've been to Jamaica and had a blast. It's so sweet your hubs wants to renew your vows. I've done the whole finish-your-hair-at-work thing. Usually because I've been running and then running late. Can't wait to see your dress
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go back to your honeymoon spot! Oooh those plaid capris are so cute. I should probably get them.
ReplyDeleteI had a similar (sort of) thing happen with my hair...a dude grabbed me and wanted to show me a curling rod of some sort. He proceeded to put several ringlets on ONE side of my head. Finally, I could tell where the conversation was going, and I abruptly (though kindly) told him I wasn't interested in his $149 curling thing...and he said the demo was over. Seriously? Lucky for me, I had a hair clip in my purse, so I was able to clip up my hair and make it look like both sides were curled (because I did not want to walk around with half of my hair curly and the other half bone straight. We renewed our vows in Hawaii a few years ago...and I wore a Hawaiian floral (casual) dress...is that an option (or something beach-themed) in Jamaica?
ReplyDeleteOh the trip to Jamaica sounds so nice and the fact that your hubby suggested renewing your vows is super sweet! Good luck with the dress shopping! You will find what you are looking for! Try Athleta for a swimsuit- I swear they have the best fit for fit girls :-) Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Jamaica! Can't wait to hear all about it!! Congrats on your 13th anniversary. Mine is coming up in August! Time flies. :) Hope you find the best dress.
ReplyDeleteI was seriously considering just pulling it back in a ponytail, but the ocd in me couldn't let it go!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI used to keep a flat iron at work, but that was when I commuted 50 miles to work and left the house at 5am, finishing up getting ready at work was a no-brainer then!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the blue tartan... I have it in shorts too!
ReplyDeleteOh how awful, thank goodness you had a hair clippy in your purse! Yes... I'm thinking summery/beachy dress... I'm finding dresses I like but the colors are way too dark (black or jewel tones).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip... I'll check out Athleta!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm really looking forward to it. Time does fly - congrats to you too!
