I recently read The Fifth Petal by Burnonia Barry.The book is set in modern day Salem, Massachusetts. The book begins with a flashback to the night of the "Goddess Murders" in 1989, where we first find the protagonist, Callie Cahill. Fast forward 25 years later, where a teenage boy dies suspiciously on Halloween night. One suspect is of interest in both muders, Rose Whelan. This story follows the investigation of the current murder case, and the reopening of the "Goddess Murders" case. Callie returns to Salem and is a help to the Salem chief of police in solving the murders.
This book captured my attention from page one, I really did not want to put it down. Barry takes you through many twists and turns and really kept me guessing as to how it would end. I found Callie to be a very likable character and the glimpses into her past only added to the story.
