Last week was my final week of training before running the Houston Marathon.
Today, I set out to accomplish that big scary goal that I had set out to do a year ago - and I finished! I'll be posting a recap of the race in the upcoming week... stay tuned!
This week was an easy week for me, as I finished out my taper.
Sunday - 6 miles easy
Monday - 8 x 2 min "fast"... a little speedwork to shock my legs.
Tuesday - Yin Yoga. I had never been to a yin yoga class and was hoping this would help to get me loosened up. The instructor described this as a class that you needed to get comfortable being uncomfortable. It was tough... a great class for mental focus! That evening I started feeling a little "off"
Wednesday - 3 miles easy... was on the struggle bus the entire time with this run. That morning I had decided my "off" feeling from the night before was a head cold.... boo!
Thursday - Rest. I hydrated like a boss between water and "sick" tea, trying to kick the cold to the curb.
Friday - Rest.... more of Thursday's hydration exercise.
Saturday - ABB 5k ... run at easy effort.
Total Miles = 17
I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’ for the Weekly Wrap; and Nicole, Annmarie, Jen, and Michelle for Wild Workout Wednesday.

I'm excited to hear how the marathon went! Hopefully, the head cold "vacated the premises" prior to the start line...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week! I hope the marathon went well for you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finish at the Houston Marathon! I'm sure you are still riding that post race high! I am eagerly awaiting all the details. I hope you were able to get rid of that head cold before the big day -- or at least it wasn't a factor. Thanks for linking, Vicki!
