Dog Days Virtual Run Recap

I signed up to run the Dog Days Virtual Run in August.  I opted for the 10k, and ran it as part of my training. My goal for this run was to run straight through with no walking water breaks.  I ran it as part of the social run I do with Gooses Acre Running Club, I thought running in a group would make it seem more "racey".

The Dog Days Virtual Run, was organized by Level Up Runs.  The run supported Second Chance Dog rescue - for each entry they donated a toy, blanket, or dog bowl. This was my 5th virtual run I have participated in, and I enjoyed this experience as much as the first.

It was a typical warm Houston day, and my run was in the heat of it.  Fortunately, we got a cooling shower not too long before I ran, that did nothing to help with humidity. My route was flat with a few small hills on bridges.  I took an easy pace and accomplished my goal of running straight through.

When I finished, I entered in my details into the "Submit Your Results" area on levelupruns.com for accountability purposes.

A few weeks later my medal came. I'm really impress at the quality of the medals from Level Up Runs.

Coming up this month is a Harry Potter themed run - the "I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good"

Isn't the medal awesome? I plan on running the 5k virtually with my niece Hannah.  Who else is in?    You can save 10% on registration by using code SAVE10 when you register here.

  1. Nicely done! Sounds like you kept a great pace despite the heat. And that puppy medal!
