Had another great week of running. I'm in my 4th week training for the Houston Half. My mileage is increasing bit by bit.
The heat is back in H-town. Thursday evening the temp was still at 92 degrees at 7:30 pm... whew!
I ran in the Southern Star Brewing Company 5k run on Saturday... it was a fun time with running, and craft beer. I even took home 3rd place in my AG! Look for a race recap later this week.
Here is how my week shook out:
Sunday - 10 miles slow (average pace 11:30)
Monday - Rest.
Tuesday - 5 miles easy effort (average pace 10:21).
Wednesday - Rest.
Thursday - 5 miles easy effort (average pace 10:54)
Friday - Rest.
Saturday - 3.1 miles (average pace 8:46) - Southern Star Brewing Co. 5k
Total miles = 23
I'm linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippi Piddlin’ for the Weekly Wrap; MCM Mama Runs, Marcia’s Healthy Slice, and My no-guilt life for Tuesdays on the Run; and Nicole, Annmarie, Jen, and Michelle for Wild Workout Wednesday.

Another great week for you! Congratulations on the 5k age placement. Your pace is very impressive is this heat, ma'am. I hope that beer was COLD. Thanks for linking, Vicki!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your AG win - a race sponsored by a craft beer company sounds like a lot of tun!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 3rd place! That looks like a fun race!
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of all you people with AG awards. It would be enticing to race ore if I could ever win one, but that just ain't happening. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a really solid week considering your heat!
Great job on your 5k! 8:46 pace is great! I do not see 8's hardly at all and especially in this heat I know what effort it takes!
ReplyDeleteOh I hear ya on the heat. When is fall weather coming? Congratulations on getting 3rd place in your age during the 5k.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was totally surprised when I saw those 8's on my watch. Yes... the beer was COLD (but not for long).

ReplyDeleteThanks! It came as a total surprise.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was a little surprised when I kept seeing 8:something at each mile on my watch.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Our weather guy says this week is the peak of summer for Houston, so the temps (hopefully) should go down from here.
