It is no secret that I love salsa.
I started making this salsa about 24 years ago in an attempt to copy the salsa from my favorite Mexican restaurants.
It has evolved over the years… back in the day, the only ingredients were tomatoes, jalapeños, and garlic. As my knowledge of cooking and ingredients developed, I added ingredients to enrich the flavor.
I still think this beats most salsas you can buy off the shelf at the supermarket.
Vic’s Famous Blender Salsa
2 jalapeños (or one if you like mild)
3 cloves garlic
1/2 red onion
1/2 cup cilantro
1 TBS ground cumin
Juice of one lime
28 oz can whole peeled tomatoes with juice
1/4 tsp salt
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until well chopped, but not too smooth.
