Spicy Coleslaw

picsart_06-20-09.37.29.jpgSpicy coleslaw is one of my most requested recipes for summer cookouts.

This recipe is an attempt at recreating the spicy coleslaw a friend from Kansas used to bring to our driveway parties. When we moved, I asked him for the recipe… but it was one of those that was never written down and changed every time he made it.

Spicy Coleslaw

1 package broccoli slaw

1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced

1/2 red onion, diced

1/2 TBS cumin

1/2 TBS chili powder

Several dashes of green pepper & original Cholula hot sauce (to taste)

1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped

1/4-1/2 cup egg free mayo

Combine all ingredients, chill overnight and enjoy!

I just made a spicy cole slaw last night too and added a little harissa yum! Thanks for linking up today

      Oh, that sounds good too!

Oh yum! I like the addition of the chilli powder!

It kicks it up a notch.

Wow, this looks super spicy. I don’t know if I can handle it! I want to try though. 🙂

I think you could get the flavor without the spicy by nixing the jalepenos and hot sauce.
