It just feels like we were here in the runfessional just days ago. Fall has finally made it to Houston and we are getting temps that don’t make you feel like you are melting. The days are getting shorter… too short. I’m ready for a weekend and a race, but first I need to get some things off my chest.
I’m running a half marathon on Sunday and I haven’t really thought much about it. In fact, I haven’t even thought about goals for this race. Maybe I’ll just “wing it”.
I’m only running 3x/week on this marathon training cycle… it feels odd, but I’m really enjoying it. I have time to do cross training and get some strength in without feeling too overwhelmed.
With all my hoping for cooler weather, I’m a little concerned that this weekend is going to be too cold… we may get temps down in the 30s. Parka anyone?.
I hadn’t really cooked much from my Run Fast Eat Slow cookbook until this week. The recipes are so good! I’ve had sweet potato breakfast cookies, kale radiccio salad with farro, and the curried lentil stew with charred cauliflower this week.
Maybe it’s all the good food, cooler weather, or increased workouts… but I seem to be wanting to eat #allthefood. I even wake up hungry (that has never happened). Thankfully, I’ve been able to keep it mostly healthy, except for that one bag of olive oil & rosemary popcorn.
