Goals for Running With The Cows

race25486-logo_bwagemThis weekend I will be running in the Running With The Cows half marathon in Bucyrus, KS.  This will be my 5th half marathon total, my 3rd since my 14 year running hiatus.

I am excited for this one as my nieces are signed up to run the 5k. These are my goals for the race:

  1. Start out slow … aka don’t kill yourself at the beginning … aka race your own pace. This one is huge, too many times I’ve crashed and burned at a race by getting caught up in the excitement and going out way to fast at the start.  I need to start out slow… reverse splits are my friend.
  2. Time goals … my basic goal is to finish better than my last half 2:18… with that in mind I have an A, B, and C goal.  C goal – 2:17; B goal – 2:15, A goal – 2:13.
  3. Have fun … enjoy getting to share the day, and love for running with HD and RN.
