5 Ways I’m Treating Myself This Weekend


I’m linking up for the last weekly Friday Five link-up.  While I have enjoyed this weekly link-up and will miss it, I do want to wish Courtney, Mar, and Cynthia the best!

Something I often do for myself is take a “Vicki day”… this is a day devoted only to me, and the practice of self-care. Today was ‘Treat Yo Self’ day … Parks and Rec fans will totally understand… in honor of the holiday, I’m having a “Vicki weekend”. These are the 5 ways I plan to treat myself:

  1. Spend a little time at the doctor’s office… getting that well woman exam should be a priority for every woman once a year.
  2. Get a massage … I can’t believe it, but it has been over 2 years since I went in for a massage… I’m way overdue!
  3. Pamper my feet… I’ve been pounding the pavement pretty hard, and my feet need some TLC.  Pedicure, here I come!
  4. Facial… way too long since my last one (are we sensing a theme here), looking forward one this weekend!
  5. Logging some miles!

    Sounds like you are going to have a lovely weekend pampering yourself. I have been wanting to get a massage since I completed Chicago on Sunday but was way to sore earlier this week. Now that I am feeling better I may go this weekend. I was just afraid it was going to hurt too much and not feel relaxing if I went too soon.

    I have Thursdays off but they’re never a “Wendy day”–I usually run around getting things done. But I have started at least making the afternoons mine. I lay on the couch for a couple of hours. I read, nap, get caught up on blog things…

    I really wanted a massage before this race — need it! — but just not happening. Way too busy exploring. But 2 YEARS????? Girlfriend, that’s way too long!

    Despite not working, I rarely get a day to myself. Taking care of the house, the husband, lately the parents, the furkids . . .

      I couldn’t believe it had been that long… I need to get back on a regular schedule!

    I love “treat yo self” from P&R! I’d definitely get a massage too. Maybe spend some time with my pups and then head into NYC and go to a really tasty veg-friendly restaurant!

    I have been trying to focus more on self care as I know it goes a long way.
    “Get a massage … I can’t believe it, but it has been over 2 years since I went in for a massage… I’m way overdue!”
    I actually just realized myself I wasn’t getting enough of these so I splurged and got myself a membership at a massage place for a massage once a month. I know this will force me into self care as if it’s deducting from my bank acct each month, I will be sure to go!
    Pedicure is something I rarely get though – I should treat myself to one of these =) Oooh and a facial! I haven’t had one in like a year.

      It was a great pampering weekend! I definitely need to get back into the self-care routine… I had been getting massages and pedis regularly.
